Why it Matters

Go-Tube is a fundamental shift in our methods of transportation. Its Solar Self Powered, collecting more energy than it uses from integrated solar film which means it does not require imported fossil fules or generate greenhouse gases. Given the concerns of climate change and energy security, Go-Tube is a game changer. It transports energy and data, contributing to the power and communication grids without depending on them. Its engineered from abundant base materials, carbon and glass, which will become less expensive the more product we make and as our manufacturing methods improve, rather than more expensive as scarce materials are used up. Go-Tube's Ecological Footprint is more like the sailboat or bicycle than most transportation inventions since the Industrial age which have been primarily powered, directly or indirectly, by oil and coal fossil fuels.

Go-Tube offers substantial perfomance benefits, faster, cheaper and more convenient than air, car or rail travel between regional city centres, it increases economic and social opportunities. Travelling from downtown Portland to Seattle in 20 minutes and to Vancouver, Canada in another 20 minutes makes intercity deliveries comparable to intracity times and opportunities to attend events, meet people and create value mean each of these three cities will expand beyond their two million plus metropolitan area populations to a connected regional population closer to 7 million, a much larger and more diverse market opportunity. If its true that doubling a city's population increases average incomes by 15%, making cities better connected will be a substantial boon to economic and social opportunity in the region.
